Orientation Programme for Schedule Tribe and Other Marginalized Groups

The G B Pant Social Science Institute (A Constituent Institute of the Central University of
Allahabad), Allahabad is organising a Four-Day Orientation Programme on March 31–April 3, 2016 for the Research Scholars and Faculty Members belonging to ST and Other Marginalized Groups. The programme is sponsored by ICSSR-NRC, New Delhi.
The objective of the programme is to build research capacities among ST and Other Marginalized Groups in India. The programme is multi-disciplinary in nature with a purpose to evolve them as young social scientists of the future with vibrant research potential. The orientation programme will focus on the following:
- Reviewing social science literature
- Research of the past and the present society
- Choice of a research problem and a good research methodology
- Writing research papers for peer reviewed journals
- Disseminating research and information about fellowships.
Applicants may submit their Bio-data, Caste Certificate and a brief write-up of about 300 words giving their future research plans. Applications may be sent to Dr. Archana Singh, Coordinator, Orientation Programme, GBPSSI, Jhusi, Allahabad 211019 or by e mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
The last date for submitting application is March 15, 2016. Decision of the Institute regarding the selection of the candidates shall be final. In case sufficient number of candidates from ST and Other Marginalized Groups are not available, candidates from general category who are working on issues relating to ST/ SC/ other marginalised groups will be considered.
Note: No registration fee will be charged from participants. The selected participants will get free boarding and lodging on twin-sharing basis. Train fare (IIIAC) by the shortest route will be reimbursed.
