Pradeep Bhargava, (Retired) Professor and Director is a professional researcher and has persued research particularly in the areas of poverty, vulnerability, education, institutions and organizations. He has also studied civil society response to various problems. He obtained his Masters and Doctoral degrees from the University of Rajasthan. He worked at South Asia Studies Centre, University of Rajasthan, the Centre for Policy Research, New Delhi and the Institute of Development Studies, Jaipur where he worked as Professor for more than ten years. He was a Mid Career Fellow at the Woodrow Wilson School, Princeton University and a Visiting Fellow at the Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex. He has authored and co-edited several books including Political Economy of the Gulf States, New Economic Policy and the Vulnerable Sections, Policies for Agricultural Development and Poverty Reduction in Developing Countries : Experiences from Asia and Africa and has published in various Journals. He engages in policy dialogue with Governments and interacts with Civil Society. He is presently Advisor to the Commissioners of the Supreme Court in the PUCL Case on Right to Food.
