Dr. Kamei Samson obtained his M.A. (Social Work) degree and Ph.D. degree from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. His Ph.D. thesis was ‘Zeliangrong Movement in North-East India: A Study of Perspectives from the Past and the Present’. He cleared NET exam under JRF category. He was a recipient of prestigious fellowships (1. Junior Fellow, Nehru Memorial Museum and Library, New Delhi 2. Fellow, Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla 3. Post-Doctoral Fellow, Indian Council of Social Science Research). He also worked as Researcher in the Department of Tribal Studies, Indian Social Institute, New Delhi. He has published many papers in high quality journals listed in UGC-Care list and indexed in SCOPUS. His areas of interest are Social Movement, Tribal Issues, Religion, Cultural Studies, Identity, Racism and Social Psychology.

Equipped with knowledge of SPSS Kamei Samson is a keen researcher with many years of experience in ethnographic fieldwork. His strength lies in his ability to engage in critical analysis of contemporary social issues. Adopting interdisciplinary approach to objectively analyse and understand social environment is his academic caliber. To his credit Manohar Publishers and Distributors will shortly publish his book titled ‘The Resilience of Indigenous Religion’.
